What are some of your pet peeves - the things that just annoy you?

I get irritated when people use "feels" IRL, but for some reason it doesn't bug me that much when it's used online.

Slurping sounds. The whole concept of licking or smacking your lips makes me shudder like someone just scraped their nails down a chalkboard. People who chew with their mouth open or can't drink without making loud slurps set it off too.

Along the same line, making out in public. I don't care if you can't contain your lust or you desperately need to show off how sexay you are, please suck on your partner's face elsewhere.

Calling your daughter 'sissy' (short for sister) and your son 'bubba'. A lot of people do that around here and it annoys the fuck out of me. Also, people who tell their kids dumb-ass names for things, like a dog is a 'bow-wow' or their genitals are 'peepees' or 'bunny'. W. TF.

Also, texting while mid-conversation. Knock it off.

Drunk college students puking on the street. If getting vomity drunk is your idea of fun, would it kill you to do your puking somewhere private so the general public doesn't have to watch your throes?

People who chew tobacco. They think nobody realizes they're doing it. They're wrong. The sound they make when they spit is one of the most disgusting sounds I know.

People who sing loudly along with the music from their ipods...in the library.

Ooh fun!

People stopping in the middle of the mall aisles.

People insisting flu shots always work/denying others getting sick after them.

Warning for incest when the incestuous pairing is clearly labeled. It’s like warning “Do Not Eat” on plastic food. Annoys me 'cause it makes common sense unneeded and unexpected.

Long book introductions, especially when not written by the author.

In every single restaurant I order my sandwich plain and yet they still include the lettuce, tomato, onion on the bun. PLAIN, people!

Fanfic/fic/fanfiction spelled as “Fan Fiction.” Just a minor pet peeve. No one in fandom that I’ve ever seen actually sees it as two separate words as opposed to a term. But that would be fine. It just annoys me that people not even in fandom think they know better.

People who think others have to ask their permission to link to their page/fic/art/etc.

Dodgeball portrayed as sadistic. It's fun! And I suck at sports!

People who think using the word “depressed” should be reserved only for those with capital-D Depression (I’m so not kidding. I’ve seen people get offended by “I’m depressed” as a way to describe a mood.)

*sigh* I feel better now.

People who walk in large groups, all side-by-side shoulder-to-shoulder spread out across the whole sidewalk/aisle/hallway, at approximately the pace of a retreating glacier.

When I get a slice of lemon in my drink and the seeds fall out and get stuck in my straw.

When the hulls of popcorn kernels get stuck between my teeth and my gums.
