Re: DON'T U DARE DRAW LIONS AS WHITE

The thing is, the lions in the Lion King aren't. If someone wants to draw Kimba as a white kid, I'm fine with it.

the lions in TLK aren't black either though
they're like
orange and such
the fanart I've seen with "white" characters has been keeping the color schemes from the movie aka they're kinda orange looking
don't see why animals can be said to have a certain skin color in a human form anyway, and don't lions have pale skin under their fur to boot?

I think their big point is - this is Africa. Africa is synonymous with Africans and they are usually dark in skintone.

I probably would be repeating the photoset further.

If it was official art from Disney, I'd agree with you 100%, but we're talking about fanart, which, lbr, like fanfiction, doesn't actually have any sort of magical way of stopping the original (or other interpretations) from existing.

I thought the idea of "nonhuman characters as humans" fanart was to draw them as they might look if they really had been humans instead of whatever nonhuman thing they are in canon. Not literally as nonhuman thing in human form.

Both ways exist.
