It makes me sad to think that he would never find me good enough to be a companion (I'd be that girl from Smith and Jones that is afraid of opening the windows and the Doctor tells her to stay there that she can't come with him and Martha).

Yeah me too. :( Although tbh, I'd probably have a complete nervous breakdown after one adventure and wind up scarred for life anyway, so it's probably a good thing to be pre-emptive sometimes...
