And that's okay, that's your prerogative to think that it's weird, but that doesn't mean you have the right to tell the artists that omg they're racist! for drawing them that way, because you're not necessarily right.

(What I love most is when the art in question is by a Japanese person, with the typical "manga" looks that American's tend to assume are "white" when in Japan the same look is thought of as "Asian".)

Technically, the look is neither "white" nor "asian", but default. That's the reason characters in Rose of Versailles and Oniisame E are drawn the same way (besides both being by the same author), even though in one the default is "white" and in the other "asian".

For some artists, but if you haven't seen the way a lot mangaka draw Stereotypical White Americans you are missing out on some hilarity.
