Pretty much.

I can be nice. Very nice!! But there are topics (obviously) that make me pissy. And after the recent Rarity cosplay wank on Tumblr (that poor girl), anyone who has issues with me tarring ALL Bronies with the "disgusting fuckers" brush need to get over themselves. Cause the ones who were all saying "we're not all like that!!", you guys can start policing your fandom, thanks. THEN I might see you as non-assholes.

Seriously: Cosplay does not equal any and all sexual harassment is A-OK, Bronies. None of it is. And that's to ALL of fandom, not jut MLP. B/

edit: link to that post. The amount of shit she's gotten is jut....ugh.

I know right? And people want me to be NICE to those fuckers? Even the "nice" ones? Not when shit like that is prevalent in the fandom.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-07 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
If you are set on hating every guy in the fandom though that uses the label brony, well... that's a big ass chunk of the fandom. There's really not a lot of places you are going to go where you won't find them.

It's why I said in my earlier comment: if you're a Brony who doesn't fit the stereotype, yet doesn't stand up and tell the fuckers to stop that kind of shit? You're just as bad. And you get tarred with that brush.

You want Bronies to stop being hated on and lumped all into one big pile of fuckery? Start trying to affect a positive change.

Saying "we're not all like that!!" without backing it up? Sorry, you're just as bad. It means you just leave it as is and let it fester, which isn't any better than the blatant asswipes like in that link I posted.

How do you want us to back up the fact that we're not like that?

By not harrassing women? Done
By openly condemning their actions? Done
By not hanging around with any Bronies like that? Done

Every fandom, and infact general internet fandom at large, and when you get right down to it every group of people of a significant size is full to the brim with lowlives. You can't judge a group by it's worse members. Well you can but it's a dangerous road to start down because at a certain point you're not going to feel comfortable calling yourself a human being.

Yes we can when you let that shit slide. YOU may not do those things, good on you. But when you let it slide, like the way the entire Brony fandom lets things like this slide, then you've got a fucking problem. You're just as bad. No, in fact, you're worse. It's telling the assholes they can get away with it when they aren't universally got after for it.

It's why I call sane fans MLP fans and everyone else Bronies.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-08 11:08 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know which 'you' you're using there, I'm choosing to believe every instance of 'you' after the first sentance is the general you, and could easily be 'they', because as I say I won't let it slide. I don't associate with people of any fandom who do let it slide. The bronies I know and tolerate are not asshats, and do decry the actions of the shits mentioned in the post.

So I say again: It's not the entire Brony fandom, it's just the worst of the fandom. And the worst actions will always be easier to see than the best, particularly if that's all you want to see.

No asshole is "universally got after" for their horrible behavior. I hate to get all goodwins on you, but the worst example of humanity I can think of would be Hitler, and to this day there are people who will defend his actions and beliefs. In fandom at large where it seems like 90% of the people are just awful scum, it's always going to be difficult to hear the voices of the decent people, you can't just assume they're not there, well you can but that's not going to help anything.

Take your voice, for example. This community knows you as 'That crazy chick who hates all bronies and will show up to froth and rage.' I don't mean to be mean, but a lot of people here would put you in the category of 'the loud 90% of internet hatemongers' in spite of the fact that your aims are overall good. If you were a part of the 'Brony' fandom you'd be a genuine asset to the people who don't want the horrible shit to slide. You're dismissing and abandoning the people who genuinely don't want that shit in their fandom.

"You're worse" Minor Point: No, The people who sexually harrass innocent cosplayers are worse. The people who let it happen and encourage it are sick awful people and need to be removed from the species, but the actual act of sexual harrassment is far worse.

"I’m a brony. If I see a cosplay, I’m gonna hug them. Plane and simple.
I did a fem! Austria and had severial people hug me with out permission. And in no way was my outfit or character choice provocative.
So either quit cosplaying cause you’re uncomfortable with affection from people who obviously were showing their respect to you’re cosplay or SUCK IT UP AND TAKE BACK ALL The NASTY COMMENTS.
Thank you."

Is this real life.

Unfortunately...yes.

It's in every fandom, not jut MLP. This is just one of the ones that's at the forefront right now.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-08 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
I remember that stuff when I was going conventions years ago (so yeah, teenager)... I usually assumed they were harmless teenagers who didn't think anyone could mind because ~we're one big happy family~ or something.
But to look at someone who says in very clear words that they are uncomfortable with it and not second guess yourself, that's something special.

Why is it not allowed to punch people like that.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-08 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
I'm a cosplayer. If a person comes up and hugs me without my permission I will punch them. Plane and simple. Either quit hug!attacking people cause you're uncomfortable with being punched or SUCK IT UP AND STOP HUGGING PEOPLE WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT.

I tried replying on their level. So they can keep on hugging just like I can keep on punching. Everyone's allowed to do anything that want when it's about cosplay!!!

I hate people sometimes.

Isn't it sad that I thought this was going to be the Rarity cosplay incident where Bronies started attacking a black girl with horrible slurs and insults for playing High Society Rarity just because she was daring to be dark AND large?

And now I see THIS pile of shit concerning yet another High Society Rarity cosplay...
The girl defending the harrassment is incredibly hypocritical, too. She follows blogs that exploit assholish behaviour on twitter and facebook, such as racism or sexism, but once a woman dresses up as her favorite character she has to expect getting treated like public property and get along with it? Because that is simply "how the real world works"? The fuck? I wasn't aware of the fact that cosplay was an alternative reality.
