What topics are guaranteed to get you to comment?

Or hey let's do opposites too, what topics are a guaranteed pass on commenting?

I have absolutely zero interest in online fandom interaction drama-llama. ZERO.

I want Drama Llama to be a comic strip. Or perhaps a cartoon short. About a dramatic llama....well, I guess it's pretty self explanatory.

These days I'm pretty guaranteed to post on Teen Wolf secrets. Unless it's one of those "this guy is ugly/hot" secrets.

I pass a lot of the more obvious wank topics.

If it's a Once Upon a Time secret, I'll comment on it.

Same. It's the only current fandom I'm active in.

I like the secrets that are about artists, or how artists are treated in fandom, fanart in general, artist dramabomb is great. There's one like that today! But I don't feel like I have anything worthwhile to say...

Other than that I love me some "het shipper fantastic journey on the land of slash" secrets.

I think I mostly comment on things that open up a discussion, or already have a discussion going on in the thread.

I pass up things I find boring.

Pretty much any fandom I'm not in. I pass them all the time. *shrug*

Almost anything related to video games I like will get a comment. Stuff on older PC games, too.

I love me some sexual secrets about Darth Vader and Tom Hiddleston. I cannot get enough of thinking about their junk.

These days I gravitate to secrets about Supernatural, Teen Wolf, select anime titles, the hobbit, and video games.

I usually skip huge blaring wank secrets. 90% of me is a hugger not a fighter.

Re: Inspired be #9

(Anonymous) 2013-04-08 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
Nothing is ever "guaranteed" to get a comment from me. I comment when I have an opinion on the matter.

I definitely never comment on "I always judged X.... OOPS" secrets though. Seriously, nobody cares.

Video games (especially Mass Effect and anything by Atlus), Game of Thrones.... uhhh.... and it varies depending on my mood. I very rarely comment on secrets and I avoid wank.

Usually stuff I really like to talk about that I don't get to talk about much like Star Trek, Fallout 3/New Vegas, MST3k or stuff I'm really into that has a small or dead/non-existent fandom like Farscape or Trailer Park Boys. If there's a secret saying such-and-such is ugly or weird looking and I disagree, I'll usually say so.

Re: Inspired be #9

(Anonymous) 2013-04-08 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
Outside of fandoms I actually know, I tend to comment on secrets that are about the bigger picture of fandom trends and etiquette etc.
Anything anime or manga related gets skipped, and anything about how much you miss your friend, hate your friend, secretly love your friend, are friends with your RP character, don't have any friends... you get the idea.

Usually on fandoms I'm interested in? Certain topics when it comes to fanartists will get my attention too.

If there's a potential for drama I'll usually hang around too.

I definitely won't touch a thread about religion though.

I stay away from anything to do with asexuality or sexualities in general usually.

I almost always comment on Tolkien secrets, video games series I'm interested in (usually BioWare games because secrets about those are pretty common, but I'm open to other things. For instance, I LOVE Metal Gear secrets), and TV shows (Stargate Atlantis, Once Upon a Time, The Walking Dead, Hawaii 5-0, etc). If it's about one of the few comics I read I'll most likely comment on it too.

If the secret is wank-bait though, most likely I'm going nowhere near it.

Direct replies to secrets? In the last month or so I think I've only replied to secrets about old anime. I'm pretty out of fandom atm and I don't have much time to read comments like I used to so I don't find myself having much to say these days.

If it's a fandom I'm in or was in I'm more likely to comment. I generally have a rule that if I have the time to be here I should comment on at least one secret.

I'm also interested in secrets about fandom trends and just people in general.

I generally skip secrets about fandoms I'm not in. Technically I will comment on trigger warning secrets once in a blue moon but it's very rare. So it's a lot less likely I'll comment if your secret is in there.

I don't think there's anything that ALWAYS gets me to comment. Comments from me largely depend on time and my energy levels.

However, I'm making more of an effort these days to avoid things that I know will upset me because of issues I'm still working through. Still needs work, but I've stopped going into things like the non f!s thread here (it's a bit of a landmine zone for me just because of its nature).

On a more positive note, I LIKE to comment on shows I love (Doctor Who is a great example, but if anyone ever talks about Leverage here I'll be all over that). I also enjoy throwing two cents into those little slice of life questions, or if I know a solution to a problem then I end up writing a giant post to share. I don't know if they ever help, but it's still good to try imo! :D

Will comment on: good secrets

Pass on: boring secrets.

For serious though, I'm pretty sure Teen Wolf and Person of Interest are auto draws for me. If it's an obscurish fandom in f!s, as in not a whole lot of people ever talk about, I'm probably going to just give a little love that the source material got a mention.

I don't think I comment on obvious trolls or boring edgy secrets. And I'm serious about passing on boring secrets. Although not every one is boring since I may just have nothing to say or not know what to say (eg: it's too personal, long-winded, etc.).

Comment on my specific fandoms, usually. The generic ones or outside my fandoms if the secret looks interesting to me.

I won't comment on anything that's from one of the specific large fandoms I'm not in, or anything that's a rehash of something that I've seen a dozen times before.
