...what? CoE got better ratings than every single episode of Series 1 & 2.

Series 1 was on BBC Three, Series 2 was on BBC Two and CoE was on BBC One. Series 1 and 2 outperformed expectations and were ratings giants for their timeslots on their respective channels. CoE underperformed on BBC One, largely because it was in a shit timeslot because BBC One had many other better programmes filling the good timeslots. In CoE's defence, it probably would have a lot better if they'd left it on BBC Two. But they didn't and BBC Wales refused to produce another series after CoE. When RTD went to Hollywood and tried to get networks there to back the show, CoE's underperformance killed the deal with Fox and supposedly the talks with SyFy.
