I like how you roll, OP. Rock on!

Unless Sherlock comes back having wiped everyone's original sin clean or maybe something closer to equivalent of like, say, college loans, I can't really see the two as the same. Though him coming back and everyone seeing their loans wiped out would be an awesome but weird storyline. "My loans have been paid! It is the Consulting Detective. He has risen! Hallelujah!"

Why, yes, I didn't sleep much at all last night. Why do you ask?

I'd need to start watching Sherlock if he did this omfg

I just spent the last couple of minutes thinking how would that even work?

It's Moffat's version of Sherlock. Is logic ever in play with his shows?

I giggled in my Russian History class. It wouldn't be such a problem if the lecture wasn't about Stalin's purges.

I wish this was one of today's fandom secrets. *sigh of longing*

Are you serious? You're disgusting. I could never laugh if people are talking about suffering horrible atrocities.

Although I appreciate the time it must have taken between vomiting fruitarian food into your eco-friendly toilet to type out a grammatically-correct rebuke, I fart in your general direction.

If Jesus did that I'd be impressed and might even believe in him.

I don't even care whether it makes sense or not. I love religious irreverence, and so I salute you.

Did this with religious songs for the 9 years I went to private/religious school. No shame.

(all the songs where the lyrics were about how much the singer needed Jesus in their life I applied to Mulder/Scully)

(Anonymous) 2013-04-09 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
No one could blame you, OP. Especially with all the blatantly obvious religious parallels that story had anyway.

Sherlock = Jesus, 'laying down his life for his friends (sort of)'

John = Peter, Jesus' BFF who spreads his scripture/blog. Also left him the morning before he 'died'.

Mary Magdalene = Molly, most likely first one who saw him after he 'rose'.

Moriarty = Satan

Mycroft = Judas

Anderson & Donovan = The Jews

Lestrade = Pilate

There's probably more but I'm tired and that's the extent of my atheist knowledge of what happened in the bible. :P

SA

Oh and I'll add Mrs. Hudson to that, because she's there at Sherlock's grave at the end = Holy Mary at the crucifixion.

And of course I just googled that quote about 'there be no greater love than this than who lays down his life for his friends'. Which disciple wrote that? John.

Goodnight everybody!

and now I'm trying to write a Sherlock version of Jesus Christ Superstar in my head.

Oh, you are the Holmes
Yes, the great Sherlock Holmes
Prove to me you're oh so great
Figure out what I just ate... [belch!]

The last time I attended a church service I made notes for RPG world building about how everything in the service could apply to the cult the PC's would be going against for the next several sessions of the game.

I like how your mind works! :D
