There's a new fanfic group here on Dreamwidth: armyoffanfic. There's some fic on AO3 as well as on FF.net.

Most of the fandom is drawn, but there's a solid one on Tumblr.

This makes me feel better about the remake existing, since I did an automatic, "What?! No one will be Ash like Bruce was..." when I heard about it.

You know honestly, I love the Evil Dead trilogy and generally support most anything Sam and Bruce do. The remake was not terrible. It wasn't outstanding but it was entertaining and I didn't hate it, and I generally don't like remakes of films I love too well.
I think it's just a hard pill to swallow at first that Bruce/Ash is not in this.
