I can understand your friend OP. I'm the same kind of person.. when my friends tell me that my stories/plots are good I think they lie to be nice and not hurt my feelings. I've no idea where this comes from, but I can't change how I feel, I tried. I'd rather believe they're lying to me than that they're telling the truth.. it's sad - I know - but I can't help it.

I hope your friend is different and will believe you some day. Don't give up on them.
