He was around when Thatcher was in power. I find it extremely unlikely that he hates Thatcher 'because it's cool'. I have no particular feelings about Morissey, but this is a weird assumption.

Have you ever heard Morissey pontificate about something? It isn't particularly sophisticated.

I know plenty of people who were around when Bush was in power and dislike him but can't really tell you why save a couple incredibly simple talking points.
