Looks like a combination of "the heads" and "the everything".

Me too... I think, for me, the very professional coloring clashes with the simple and not very interesting character design. Most of those characters look like they could have been drawn by someone at deviant art. Especially the female ones.

Also their eyes look kinda like they're possessed/are zombies.

The style looks a bit hyper-detailed to me, looking at the secret. I kinda like it; it looks much more refreshing to me.

But maybe different strokes for different folks and all that.

I'm pretty okay with it except the two people behind the red-headed dude. One looks like a perverted hamster and the other one looks like he's got a cornucopia glued to the top of his head.

I'm the same way. Not with Dangan Ronpa (i'm okay with the style) but there are so many things that are probably great that I can never get into because I can't stand the style/aesthetics.

I'm like this for all the damn "Tales of" games. The character designs always look so stupid to me (and not cool-anime enough for me).

Yeah, I'm like that for some of the tales games. I forget which one, but one semi recently just was so visually unappealing to me u_u That said, I do like symphonia and abyss.

I found the art style really weird at first too, but it's really such a good series that it stopped bothering me after a while.... Although (minor spoilers) when the second victim is crucified their body is very weirdly drawn, and in the last trial when the mastermind has all the different facial expressions, the "cutesy" one really did look like it was drawn on deviantart.
