Nothing wrong with getting attached to characters! Besides, Casca and Guts are awesome, so I can understand wanting them to come out of things okay. I enjoy tragedy, too, but sometimes it's nice to have a happy(ish) ending, too.

All I care about anymore wrt Berserk is Casca. Maybe she won't necessarily get a happy ending, but I want her to get at least a bit better.

OMG, I hear you. I've been following Berserk since high school (I'm goddamn 30, just to give you an idea) and I've been hoping she'd get better for YEARS. I doubt it'll happen, but it would be nice.

I just hope Miura doesn't pull a Wheel of Time and die before the manga is finished. Blah.

I stopped reading about 4 years ago, and don't intend to pick it back up until Caska gets a resolution. Because as much as I am all for No spoilers and Let the Story Unfold and all that, having her condition on and on .... I couldn't take it.

I feel the same way, OP. I don't care what else happens in the series just as long as they get to be happy together in the end...and that's probably not going to happen.

I won't read Berserk again until Caska is cured, but I think I'd throw down the manga in disgust if Caska and Guts got back together. She deserves better.

That said, I think the manga is going for a showdown between get the girl vs. get revenge. And I think Guts is going to get revenge and lose the girl. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part, since that's what I'd like to happen :P

Now Serpico and Farnese however... there's a pairing I can get behind!
