If she didn't grow up with her in her life, and there's no blood relation, then, no it is not 'just like her real grandmother'.

I had a step-grandfather (died some years ago). He was just like my real grandfather, but only because I grew up with him as such - I was 10 before I knew he wasn't. If I hadn't...he'd just have been some guy.
