I hadn't even thought about all the Azazel stuff that still hasn't been answered, but I totally agree with everything you've said. Your idea would have been a fantastic end for her character - but instead we get fridging on steroids. Like, they directly introduce the idea of romantic relationship between her and Castiel in the same episode they kill her off for the express purpose of having the audience care about her death. Wtf. The audience doesn't need a reason to care about her - she's been a recurring character for eight years ffs. There also doesn't seem to even be any pressing reason for her to die at this exact moment either - her role could have been played by any demon and yellow eyes didn't need to be brought up at all.

Ugh. I told myself I was going to stop getting angry when Supernatural inevitably fails to live up to its potential, but last week's ep was super lazy as well so I'm in rant mode. Very good point that any redshirt demon would have been sufficed. I was so excited to see her pop up again, since nothing definitive was said last time, but apparently they just didn't want anyone seeing that loose end and getting their hopes up.

If those deep breaths work out for you, let me know. (Considering that I was relieved when I saw yesterday was a rerun...)
