It's...not different, though, at all. It's magical/supernatural thinking. You think a being or group of beings with magical powers exist, even though they don't. Because half naked sky fathers and ox headed wheel go-carts are not the sanest thing to believe in, just saying.

If you define religion as half naked sky fathers and ox headed wheel go-carts than yes, they are somewhat similar. That's a very reductive definition though.

Ok, discrimination based on race exists at a deep cultural level. Discrimination based on being a werewolf does not exist at a deep cultural level any more than Christians are discriminated against in the US or saying 'lol, white people' is racist.
