Yo, I love Cersei. and protecting herself and her children is definitely a factor in her shit, but even so, I wouldn't say she's just a tragic woobie. She's driven by spite and desperation by turns, and I think this makes her fascinating, and I think i'm half sympathetic towards her and half "DAMN WOMAN U SO COLD!" I never would have thought it possible when I first started the series, but somewhere around the end of Feast for Crows I suddenly realized with a jolt that I loved her (and therefore, EVERY Lannister).
