he definitely encourages the 'minions' and the glorification they have of him, but that seems like more of the Misha Collins Annoying Twitter User persona then himself.

and you differentiate between him on his twitter and him how? that sounds like a weak defense. with any other celeb it would be like check their twitter, see how they really are

I always got the impression that he really enjoys entertaining people, and he uses his twitter to do so, which isn't quite the same. And yes, the public (including twitter!) celebrity persona is different from the private one. Or at least that's the case for the smarter celebs who don't go airing all their opinions to their followers.

I looked his twitter up to see what it was like and read it in Castiel's voice. Cannot stop laughing.

In some cases, sure, how celebs reply to people on twitter gives you an idea of what they're like. But Misha Collins, as far as I can tell, almost always tweets in a sarcastic or clearly joking way. He doesn't reply to people, he doesn't follow anyone. He uses twitter as entertainment, and while looking at his feed gives you an idea of his sense of humour and how much he likes to mess with his fans, it tells you little about what he's really like. The closest you get to that is when he tweets about his charity or his children, but that's not often.

Celebs in public are working, it's a performance, whether it's a chat show, social media, or convention. It really isn't the real person.
