And even better, thinking that old and popular ridiculous beliefs are still ridiculous puts you "beyond saving"?

It's groupthink, basically. Both are essentially the same level of stupid, but otherkin don't have the same emotional and social supports that make their delusions slightly less dumb. It's like the stupidest religion in the world, ramped up to 11.
