(Anonymous) 2013-04-12 07:07 am (UTC)(link)I say this as a non-otherkin/non-anything-special per se like that. I'm just really tired of all the judgment. Why can't people just let people be what they want to be?
Seriously, what is wrong with letting people live their own lives, according to their own beliefs, as long as those people aren't hurting anyone?
I would think we ALL have things that someone would be like, "you are/like/think WHAT!? D:" about... But instead of having people judge you and then you judging people in return to make yourself feel like you're better than them, wouldn't it be better if everyone just stopped judging? My impression and opinion is that the most judgmental people are the most insecure ones, and that they need to judge other because if they're not the judges, they're the judged. Instead of living in insecurity and judgment, why not just...stop? Let people be who they want to be, as long as it's not harming anyone. If everyone did that, nobody would get judged, including the insecure people themselves. It's not a difficult message to get.
(To be honest, I often also get the impression that people who get judgmental about how others live their lives, are simply envious because they themselves are afraid to be who they are, and live their life in some kind of pretense, secretly wishing they too could be brave enough to really be themselves. At least, that's been my own personal experience when I find myself getting judgmental for no reason and I start questioning why...)
