That....would not surprise me. This show is full of non-con elements. It will make me very sad if it happens that way, though.

I really just want the Alpha pack to be coming in to town to welcome a new alpha. Like, they make the rounds and throw a party to celebrate the magical (murderous) birth of a new alpha into the world. Then they see how sad Derek's so called pack is and stick around for the season to help him straighten out his life. Meanwhile, Ethan (is that the right twin?) falls for Danny and decides to have a little fling/falls in love. Also there are shenanigans.

Instead we'll probably get some rape and pillaging and murders and naked people. I'm mostly okay with that.

They just need to teach him the secret handshake, and it takes a while to learn it. It's really complicated.

I still think that the whole concept of an alpha pack is bloody stupid, and not only because wolf packs don't work that way. Hopefully they don't introduce some kind of superalpha to rule over the others.

Yeah, alphapack is kind of dumb but I'm pretty interested to see what ridiculousness they're going to cook up with it. I love this show but it's not exactly the best of plots and writing.

well they've already confirmed and cast the alpha leader so that looks like what's happening, though idk if that means he's stronger than the others or he's just appointed or something.

Oh great, it's probably too much to hope that they'd elect their leader democratically or take turns switching every year.

Maybe he gets more powerful by killing other alphas and absorbing their powers to his old ones.

It would not surprise me either and I will be very upset if they go this route. I will be especially upset if they do that and in the end Danny doesn't regain his real memories.

The more I think about it the more I'm dreading this season. Giving people the ability to mess with memories is never a good thing and I just don't have faith in the writers to actually handle it well. It's just going to be another mess that never really gets dealt with.

But maybe I'm jumping to horrible conclusions like OP and everything will work out. ...maybe.

I know exactly how you feel because I feel the same way.

The new season has the potential to be either really, really good(ish) or absolutely, horribly bad. And not even bad in that "Ha ha that's bad" way but the "Holy fuck what is wrong with the writers?" way. I honestly don't like waiting to find out which it is.

Oh, god, I hadn't even thought of the implanted memories concept. I just figured Ethan would seduce Danny (and hopefully, in the process, end up falling in love with him because, come on, it's Danny). I never thought about him giving Danny false memories of their relationship. I will be sick and unhappy if they do that.

I sincerely hope you're wrong, OP, since that story line would be incredibly disappointing. :/

Although, given the way that the show's writers seem to forget things like the whole alphas-can-implant-memories thing regularly, you may have nothing to fear!

Oh man, I didn't even think of this and now I'm terrified for that happening. ashfbaskejfbwebfk,bef!!! OP! Why do you do this to me?

I was actually worried that the alpha twin dating him would bite Danny and make him a beta. Because love or power or both. But it seems alpha packs don't deal with betas so that makes me think that if he did bite Danny the other alphas would see it as a power play and try to take him down. Now, the best way to kill an alpha is to kill their betas off first and make them weaker. So that means fresh/new beta!Danny would be trying to fend off a pack of alphas. Mostly I worried about this because I really don't want Danny to be a werewolf. I want him human.

But now that you've combined those things I'm just in a whole new level of "No."

Personally, I was just never comfortable with the memory altering thing, period. Mental manipulation has always really bothered me because to me the mind is the last and only safe place. To violate that is just the biggest invasion and disgusting thing. I kind of feel like forced mental manipulation is on a similar level as rape. But that's just me and how I feel about it.

Is the whole "Alphas can manipulate memories" thing Canon, or Fanon??? I don't remember seeing or reading anything about that. Nothing outside of fanfic anyway.
