I ship them but at the same time, I think Rick has been awful to her and I don't understand why she would be attracted to him right now. After something like that I couldn't trust him.

I have faith in the decisions they make on leaving stuff out from the comics. Such as all the stupidity in the Gov. storyline.

As much as I hate the Governor in this show for being unreasonably overpowered, at least he's not the literal cartoon he's based off of. That would make the show very unbearable. I'm also glad about the direction they've taken with characters, like Carol and Tyreese who basically only share names really.

Except that Tyreese was a real bad ass in the comics and in the show he's just like, oh well maybe the Governor isn't such a nice guy.

Meh. They're not even the same character. His badassittude wasn't the reason I liked him in the comics, and it certainly wouldn't have helped my lowering opinion of him when he cheated on Carol and came off pretty unrepentant about it. I like chill!Tyreese (who also doesn't have to lug around idiot teenagers) more so far.

The only character whose badassness from the books I want kept intact is Michonne's. And that's only if they keep humanizing her the way they've kept with other badass characters like Daryl and even Merle. Badassery alone makes for a bore (see: Governor).

I ship them but only in the future. Right now, I think they're both way too fucked up to have a healthy relationship. Michonne has only just begun to trust people again and Rick is still grieving for Lori and probably will be for quite some time. So for now, I'd prefer the show to just focus on their friendship. But two/three years down the line...I could dig it :)

Ahh, this would be really cute and I'd love to see it. Especially since (Comic spoilers!) the relationship between Rick and Andrea obviously isn't going to happen now.

As someone above said, the comics and show are two different stories.

And how is pairing her with Rick inherently bad? I would think it'd be good to not only have a mixed race couple, but pairing the main character with a black woman? It's rare on television, and needs to happen more often.

It's not, but it falls into the 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' territory. Maybe OP is just trying to head off those inevitable complaints by mentioning them upfront. No matter what, somebody somewhere is gonna get pissy.
