That was pretty sucky. I think I could deal with it if that had been the end of the series, but when it got renewed I found myself unable to be excited about the show anymore. And I shipped it pretty hard, but yeah, she could have plenty of a story on her own.

But she wasn't fridged? Fridging is what happens to minor characters only for the sake of the male character's development. Killing off a female (main!) character is not automatically fridging. Frankly, I thought it showed amazing balls to kill off one of the main characters, and such a cool main character at that. I like it when nobody is safe on a show. I liked her a lot and I'll miss her on the show, but I still loved that the show pulled this kind of thing off.

No. She was fridged. Lily was essentially killed off to allow Bohannon to continue being an angsty loner and continue his own story line of vengeance, as they resolved his initial plot way too soon.

Her death was 100% bullshit and completely pointless and only for the sake of Bohannon.
