I definitely got those vibes as well. I was terrified for Hermione in DH.
You didn't expect to see someone like him in HP? Understandable, but the series did display a lot of types of evil, so I suppose it was only a matter of time?

It surprised me too. I suppose I didn't expect such a basic, simple, real-world evil from a series originally intended for children.

Part of what makes him so frightening is that no one expects to see someone like Voldemort on CNN tomorrow, but there could be a Fenrir Greyback living next door to you.

I think his vibes were similar to dark fairytales where it's also not spelled out, but you can easily see what was implied. Definitely one of the most chilling characters in the series.
