It is Ace. He really is my favourite, but I simply cannot stop fearing that if I admitted it people would assume the worst of me. I realise it can sound silly, but I feel anxious at the idea. I will not leave the fandom because I really like some people, but I mostly lurk and I doubt I will ever try roleplaying as I wished to. I fear going through the same bashing someone else already experienced.

Then I'm almost positive I know who you're talking about and thank God it's not just me. The attacking other characters and then whining about character bashing thing is starting to drive me crazy. I'm not a role player but I have noticed the more... intense people in the fandom seem to have taken it over. It sucks that you don't feel comfortable there.

And you shouldn't be afraid to say Ace is your favorite. Personally I can't stand him, but some of my favorite people in the fandom are huge Ace fans and I like what they add to the discussion. Like I said, most people in the fandom are really cool and level-headed about it.
