Chloe Sagal saga
So she's asking for financial help -- $35k to pay for her surgery. She's also looking for more money for a second, less vital but important to quality of life.
She had an Indiegogo page. It was taken down. The fraud department changed their mind and let her start the campaign up again. She met her funding goal and that same day the campaign was taken down again, and Indiegogo refunded me my five bucks. I immediately got on their Facebook and started asking some pointed questions which I've not gotten an answer to.
A few people are definitely crusading for Chloe, myself included, and there's a Paypal campaign set up for her.
To be honest I'm a little annoyed with Indiegogo. They'd already cleared her of fraud -- they shut her down once, said "nevermind, seems legit," then shut her down again after she met her funding goal? And now they're being vague about why they shut her down, citing a fraud-detecting algorithm, which doesn't make sense. Something doesn't smell right, and it's not Chloe's campaign. Maybe it's my general distrust for authority or secrecy but I strongly suspect IGG caved to haters. I get being skeptical, but some of the (often very misogynist) vitriol thrown her way was downright barbaric.
Unfortunately Chloe herself has been very silent on this issue, even though she was shut down several days ago. I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt, though. I think it boils down to I'd rather be wrong and out five bucks, than keep my money and find out 6 months from now that she died.
