If it makes you feel better, the nation-characters have been shown to disagree with or disapprove of things their leaders do. All we see of Hitler in the show is Germany disagreeing with him, and Japan is pissed off when his boss signs an alliance with Russia instead of England. I like some guro shit in this fandom too, but only if it's not directly connected to real-world events. Then again, I depicted Japan as talking to a sock puppet once, which is probably more offensive since at least committing violence makes him seem dignified to some extent...
