Well I guess it's one way to read the monologue from episode 3x02.

But you could also read it as Catelyn feeling guilty because she made a promise to her gods (that she would love Jon if they allowed him to live but then she couldn't love him) and the gods are punishing her for not fulfilling her promise???

IDK.

That monologue was a mess and a half.

Ah, I haven't caught up on the TV show, I'm still working my way through the books. Did that happen in he books? Because I don't remember it.

Interesting. Quite at odds with how I've always perceived her character.

No. It definitely didn't happen in the books.

The show doesn't really seem to understand Catelyn's character very well at all, so we get scenes like that monologue which is really disappointing to me as someone who loves Catelyn from the books.
