I hear ya. I started getting a lot more serious about... things last year, and it really did feel like prioritizing improvement in my area of study and myself was replacing prioritizing fandom. I honestly don't know it it means fandom was a "childish" thing for me, because I still really do like the idea of fandom and would like something to catch my interest to the degree that I want to join a fandom for it (thus hanging around f!s, which is basically the only thing I do on DW these days...)

It also seems like the most vibrant parts of fandom are on tumblr now, and I don't feel bad at all about saying that someone could outgrow tumblr because holy shit I have never seen a more terrifying vat of teenage hormones than tumblr.
