well you sounded pretty hostile to me. I consider it all cosplay though, since I would be dressing up and putting on an act at the same time. I find the loli fashion term hilarious because of what the word actually stands for.

If you think that sounded hostile, stay WELL away from the main [livejournal.com profile] egl community. XD;

Yeah, we all know about Nabokov. Blame Engrish. The fashion has a whole has very little to do with cosplay, and is pretty non-sexual. Bloomers and petticoats aren't exactly the sexiest of undergarments.

I'm sure all the fetishists out there would beg to differ. XD

Leave it to Japan to steal an English word and put it to hilarious use. I like the style as I love cute things, but it's just so over the top I see them as costumes not as normal everyday clothes. I can't afford to spend hundreds of dollars on the brand name stuff anyway, cute as it is.

XD I guess, but they don't make you feel very sexy. Mostly, they're awkward to move in. And DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE SHOES. HOLY COW.

There's that...and the insanely high prices that leave me constantly broke (though buying stuff second-hand on [livejournal.com profile] egl_comm_sales helps!). And the fact that I'm basically dressing like a retarded five year old. And the fact that Japanese women rarely make it above a B-cup, so anyone with a larger bust than that is basically screwed (GOD BLESS SHIRRING).

I honestly don't know why I dress the way I do. But I just can't deny the frills.
