GCSE English killed that book for me, mostly because of the over analysis we did. I swear, we spent about 6 years doing analysis of the red room chapter and how the weather was a metaphor Jane's angst and woe.

ARGH I hate overanalysis. SURE IT'S COOL TO GET SYMBOLISM BUT IT RUINS THE WHOLE POINT OF SYMBOLISM ALKJRLAKJSDG. Or something. Or that it's SO DAMN OBVIOUS GEEEEEEEZ.
