I can't wait until the Shaw vs. Root showdown. I don't know who is more dangerous. If Root catches wind of Shaw, Shaw is toast. If Shaw can catch Root unaware, Root is toast. I say, right now, it's even odds.

Oh yeah. Shaw will totally kick Root's ass :D Finch will probably say something quietly understated that, in Finch-speak, will translate to "I'm dancing on Root's grave".

Have you noticed that Reese is the only one who Root hasn't tortured for information of the power trio of Reese, Shaw, and Finch?

This does not bode well for our man of action :(

Yeah, but Root's got that extra edge of unpredictable batshit crazy, and I would say they're on equal terms so far as being ruthlessly violent. Shaw's got unquestionably better training and skills, but I'm not sure she realizes yet how much of a wild-card Root is.

Also, that icon in this thread is giving me crossover notions that I really did not need. The notion of Finch and Alec interacting in particular.

I'm so happy this show is getting more fans! I'm relative new in the fandom and I haven't encountered the supposed clique-ness, it's been great.

W/r/t shipping John and Harold...man, they're just both SO LONELY (or were before they got to know each other) and SO CODEPENDENT. Like, they're heterosexual lifemates at the least. They are literally going to spend the rest of their lives together, y'know? They adopted a DOG, for cripes' sake.

Hahaha, yessssss. Like OP I loved the baby episode because they were both so adorable with her (it WAS a girl, right?), but they're equally coo-worthy with Bear. Them raising a kid together...oh man. I'd read that fanfic in a second. (As well as anything focused on them and Bear.)

Oh god, have you read this: http://archiveofourown.org/works/724645 ?

Not only is there baby Leila (from the baby episode) but also Bear. Playing with baby Leila. And John and Harold pretending to be a gay couple raising their kid and dog and then end up becoming a gay couple raising their kid and dog.

OMG anon I could kiss you! KISS YOU! (But I won't because personal space and consent and all that.)

BUT THIS IS SERIOUSLY LIKE EVERYTHING I'VE EVER WANTED.

<3

Thanks!

Not shippy, but there is also this: http://archiveofourown.org/works/579034

And I thank the other anon as well for alerting me to the proper tag for Bear; the one used in that fic doesn't bring up as many results.

Thanks anon! I haven't read near enough Person of Interest fic and I'm always open to checking out more. I'm just usually too lazy to find it myself.

Yaaaay Bear!

(Anonymous) 2013-04-19 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Anytime :) I love the Machine-POV in that particular fic as well, and the author has written more in the same style if that's something you enjoy.

ITA, OP This show is all around awesome!

While I don't ship Reese/Finch, I totally get why they are so shippable, OP. Have shippy fun! :D

I love this show, I love Reese and Finch, I love slash... and somehow I don't ship them :\
I want to, I really do, and I can see all the shippy fanservice bits the writers put in for it... but I just don't see the chemistry.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-17 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
I love the show, I adore all the women on it (okay, I wasn't fond of Snow, but I don't guess I was supposed to be), and I was right there with you up until the baby thing. Because I thought the whole point of that episode was that while yes, they do care about the baby, under no circumstances should these guys ever be allowed to raise one. Their life just won't allow for it. :-D And I'm good with that.

I can't really ship Reese/Finch, though I'd like to.

There's a lot of it I still haven't seen, like ... most of the first season, when I saw the promos and went, "Ugh, dreary humorless 24-type scare-fest." But, no. It's funny and has some of the best character-building I've seen in a while.

I predict that Finch will eventually be forced to accept help from Root in order to save the Machine from Snow's virus. Root being batshit insane, this could be really interesting. At least she likes Finch and doesn't actually want to hurt him.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-17 07:20 am (UTC)(link)
I think you're confusing Mark Snow and Kara Stanton. Kara is the one with the virus. Snow was Reese and Kara's old supervisor/boss/whatever.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-17 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm right there with you with the plotting. I love the tiny little moments they have that remind you of what happened. Like when Finch became slightly agoraphobic after Root kidnapped him? And for one episode he didn't want to go out. And the next Reese asked him to help on the surveillance and he's really concerned about it?

"What do you mean, there are actual consequences in this show?! They keep continuity?!"
