Holy shit Anno, I'm pretty sure you've reached the point where people are so cowed by your fucking incomprehensible genius that they are super afraid to tell you to reign it in when you crawl straight up your asshole and make camp for the winter but for the love of fuck find some old friend who can be critical of you because god. Damn. You ruined TWO great scenes with your try-hard musical dissonance bullshit that BARELY worked in the original series. You made them almost unwatchable without the great voice acting and animation propping them up in SPITE of the terrible music. And good job picking two songs that sound almost the same and are sung by the same Hell Children Choir of the Cracked Voices. Thank you, Anno. So much.
Musical dissonance is a tool that needs to used carefully and SPARINGLY. And it needs to be taken from Anno, violently even, before he shoots his fucking eye out.
