Holy shit that episode made me cry so much, it was so depressing, but it was strange how at the end everything was okay and cheerful, it was kind of like... emotional whiplash.

By the way, if anyone is wondering, Time of Eve is a severely underrated OVA. A great, Asimov-ish take on human-android relations

Haha, I never thought of them having a romance... since iirc the guy was a kid when he befriended the robot. Then again, I really don't remember any romance in this show.

I remember one short story of a guy who was in love with a robot and well...spoilers, but I don't know how to censor it here.

I think that was the only romantic part and I thought they were referring to that, but I can see from the comments it's about two other characters. I don't remember romance between them at all. It's been years since I've seen this though.
