I may have laughed at first, but this sounds like something I would do, OP. I get too caught up in crack pairings and the backstories of (sometimes even self-invented) minor characters as well and it's so damn frustrating to know that I'll never be able to read someone else's take on them and that anything I write about them will only have a tiny audience. :(
