vague spoilers for homestuck (the backstory, nothing recent)

tbh even in canon we don't know how a successful kismesisitude (sp?) is supposed to look like

all the canon kismesis relationships have ended in disaster (one or both dead; their relationships with other people ruined, etc.), but we don't know if that's because their society is inherently messed up, if they were just inept at romance, or if it was external agents/plot stuff messing up what would otherwise have worked out

like, when the trolls/the author talk about how the troll romances work, they say that all the kinds of romance work to balance each other (and pretty much to keep everyone from killing everyone too much), but for all we know the quadrants might be artificially induced like many other aspects of their society! the few relationships that we've seen ended up okay were the ones that most resembled human ones (and then there is the Sufferer and the Disciple, whose love "transcended the quadrant grid entirely")

tl;dr: we actually don't know, troll romance is really messed up and the author is a tease!

Didn't the Beforans also mention Moirailegiances, at least? (Don't remember any of them being in Kismesis.)

That doesn't mean, of course, the quadrants aren't 'artificial' in the sense that they're a societal construct, rather than a biological aspect, but they don't seem to be imposed by Scratch like the more violent parts of their culture.

The only one they haven't talked about is Auspisticism. Though considering they mention the quadrant and the other three, it's a safe bet.

Also consider Meenah's reaction to wigglers. And her urges to kill Feferi for dominance.

While it's clear the Beforan trolls are less violent, it's clear they are naturally more aggressive and somewhat sociopathic when judged by human standards.

Nope. Kankri referred to Porrim's "innumera6le flushed 9r caligin9us flings"

Kismesis was always a thing for trolls, even pre-alternia.

Aaaah, Kismesis was mentioned by Kankri...no wonder I didn't remember it. As soon as he opens his mouth, my eyes glaze over.
