Her nose is supposed to be pretty big...as is her huge honking singular eyeball. After that, her features boil down to her face shape and lips.

Well, come on. I'm sure society's expectations on beauty have altered a bit. Being exposed to tons of variations of the human appearance could probably do that. Or at least that's what I would think. I haven't watched Futurama in literally years and years, so I don't remember a whole lot of that stuff.

Also look at F!S, there's plenty of people crushing on humanoid aliens, with even stranger features that being a cyclops.

I think that's actually more understandable, in a sense. Looking clearly alien is less repulsive to most people than looking human with some sort of really bizarre mutation like Maurice's mouth or Leela's eye. Which isn't to say I think most people would actually go for a real life alien like they would in a video game or cartoon.

There's a cyclops mutation in humans that looks unbelievably hideous. Do not look for it, I'm dead serious.

The main reason that mutation is so hideous is because the rest of the face is fucked up, too (e.g. the nose winds up above the eye, or in the back of the person's head). I think a single eye in a face that was otherwise normal would seem strange, but wouldn't necessarily provoke the same level of revulsion.

My point is that there's no reason for you not to understand why she's "rejected" (which isn't true, btw--usually she finds out something is horribly wrong with her boyfriend for comedy reasons).

Anyone with a single oversized eyeball in the middle of their face is going to take some getting used to, no matter how awesome the rest of her is. No idea why she gets so much shit in-universe though. You'd think a cyclops was pretty vanilla on a show full of aliens, sewer mutants, and alcoholic robots.

I like to think in that future eyes are the most important shared feature between races, so having only one still left her out in a largely open-minded to beauty standards universe.

Y'know, it's true. There aren't a lot of other one-eyed races you see in the show. A couple with more than two eyes, but mostly just the two.

She's described as having massive forearms, so I sort of picture her as a one-eyed, purple-haired Lana Kane.

Constant rejection of Leela by men or Fry's constant rejection? I don't remember Leela being rejected by that many guys.

She can't get a date with pretty much anyone but Alcazar (UGH), Zapp, or Fry. The conventional dudes don't want her. They're all pretty much into Amy.

I suspect it's more her strong personality and lack of self-confidence than Leela being unattractive.

Alcazar, Zapp, Fry (X2), the guy with the lizard tongue that SHE rejected, the guy who tried to make her 'average', Yivo (of course shklee was involved with everybody), and the guy who worked for the mayor (again, rejected by Leela, because he mistreated orphans).

For all the in-jokes about her huge hands, they actually look totally normal.

I don't remember her being rejected much either, except when Amy was around. Most of her romantic troubles stemmed from her meeting some really skeezy men.

There were a couple of episodes that centered around Leela being able to get a date, but part of it was that she wasn't getting any interest from guys she liked. Like damn, girl, give that intangible cloud of color a chance!
