Who is the guy who is not Alan Tudyk?

(Anonymous) 2013-04-18 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Anthony Starke. He played Ezra Standish in the series of the Magnificent Seven, if that's any help.

I'm kinda crying (with joy, mind you) that someone else a) remembers this guy and b) remembers that show. Mag7 was one of my first fandoms back in the day. :-)

I actually only found it recently - I was going through a western phase and found the DVD boxset for sale. I adore it madly. Ezra and Buck, Nathan and Josiah, mostly.

I had (ok, still have, ngl) a thing for Michael Biehn, and it compelled me to watch all of that show. Ughhhhh, I miss it. I did a rewatch on Netflix a year ago or so, and it wasn't as good as I remembered it, but, well, nothing is ever as good as it was when you were 17 :-D

Ain't that the truth. Still. Good enough to be going on with, no?

Oh, yeah, totally. It had its high points, and it was really very nice to look at. I couldn't complain :-D

dude, I came to mag7 late but I love that shit. It has one of the best fic fandoms I ever saw, which is actually what got me into it (some of y favourite SGA gen authors wrote lots of Mag7) You got canon, you got a millions AUs, you got slight canon divergence, and all of it loves the show but much of it is better-researched. Glorious.

Not OP, but looks like Anthony Starke.

WAIT

[personal profile] tyger66 2013-04-19 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
Wait. So there is an actual, real person named Anthony Starke? Does he go by Tony? Is he secretly a superhero?

That's not terribly uncommon, actually.

Just off the top of my head:

Green Lantern John Stewart/Daily Show host Jon Stewart.
Green Lantern Guy Gardner/Astronaut Guy Gardner.
Nero Wolfe's assistant Archie Goodwin/Comic book writer Archie Goodwin.
Starfleet engineer Miles O'Brien/Science and Technology journalist Miles O'Brien. (The only one of this batch where the timeline lines up in a way that lets one be named after the other - though it's unlikely since O'Brien wouldn't be nationally known for a few years after ST:TNG started.)

When I was a kid I thought Mark Wahlberg, Leonardo Dicaprio, and Matt Damon were brothers or twins. The movie Man in the Iron Mask did not help me at all. : /

I can see that - especially Whalberg and Damon.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-19 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
Well, they've both guest starred on CSI, but in totally different seasons. And I suppose one could make a case for a Magnificent Seven/ Firefly crossover. But my mind went to a weird Suburgatory/Shake It Up! place, so, uh, yeah. They don't look that much alike to me, but I can see some similarities (more in their body language than anywhere else).

I think it's mostly the eyes for me--they both have big pale eyes with light lashes, pretty deep-set.
