Today I'm going to be posting about the saiga antelope!

• The saiga antelope's scientific name is Saiga tatarica
• 95% of saiga antelopes have died in fifteen years, leaving 50,000 saiga total
• Most saiga antelope are killed by poachers for their horns
• Their funky noses are so that they can filter out dust/dirt in the summer, and breathe in warm air in the winter

It's like an elephant and a deer made sweet, sweet love and this is their offspring after someone thought to stick some horns on it just for decoration.

I've never heard of these before. They're so cool! It's sad that they, like so many others, are targeted by poachers :(
