*shrugs* Nazi uniforms were stylish on purpose. It was like the torches and the marching, they were designed to make the movement appealing. Anime just intensifies that.

True. Not to mention that being German and being a Nazi are two different things. One is a heritage, and one is a political party. Not all Germans were Nazis... and the stigma continues to this day.

It's wonderful they got the English cast back together for 5 - 8! I hope they do 9 and 10 soon.

Check it out as soon as you can. Some of the voices sound a little different, but I'm chalking that up to the number of years it's been since 4 came out.

Hmm I can never hate on people who like them. They were meant to be aesthetically pleasing, weren't they? Hired a fancy designer and everything. This just means they succeeded. Not to mention dressed in uniform no matter the uniform is something people in general are atracted to.

The problem is those with the straight up fetishes. They are who I'm wary of.

The uniforms were designed to be visually appealing. The fact that they succeeded so well is awkward, given what the people wearing those uniforms did.

Except for those flared-hip pants, the uniforms are pretty spiffy. Of course, a dress uniform is supposed to look spiffy, so. Honestly, I like the Warhammer 40K uniforms for commissars better, because not only do they have that great hat, but the Imperial Aquila is just so much better looking. It's my favorite uniform.

as someone who is from a country close to germany where lots of people suffered at the hand of rl nazis, i am always shocked at how much the idolising of nazi symbols is accepted here. everyone goes nuts about misogyny and racism and cp (and rightfully so, of course), but when it comes to nazi uniforms it's all "don't worry op, they're hugo boss :D". i think that's really gross.

Aren't Nazi uniforms made by that famous fashion chain? Hugo Boss I think.

They were designed to be aesthetically pleasing. They literally had designer uniforms. Hugo Boss is still making absurdly nice clothes.

Now; finding their uniforms sharp as a superficial quality and condoning their actual atrocities...that's a bit different. I still wouldn't recommend running around in one and claiming that all you like is the lines, though.
