Anyone wanna mention their favorite little romantic gestures that a fictional couple you ship have done for each other? I don't mean "X and Y's entire relationship" or "huge sacrifice X made for Y", I just mean little sweet things that made you go awwwww.

I'm a sucker for when X is feeling awful, things are going badly, and whatnot and then Y gives them an adorable "everything's going to be okay" hug.

The part in John Dies at the End when Amy pukes and Dave cleans it up. Given their backstory it was just really heartwarming.

I don't know when the line 'His heart beats faster every time he looks at you, and yours skips a beat every time you see him,' from Thud! will stop putting a huge, silly grin on my face every time I read it. Carrot and Angua's relationship is just one of my favourite things about this series <3

And when he sees her in the gaudy gold dress.

Still, I think my vote for best couple of Discworld has to be Sam and Sybil. “And then it struck Vimes that, in her own special category, she was quite beautiful; this was the category of all the women, in his entire life, who had ever thought he was worth smiling at. Jim and Pam's secret wedding in The Office. It was adorable, and so "them".

Oh I loved that.

My favorite is when X says something that would sound weird or incomprehensible to anybody else, but Y understands it as X's own way of admitting just how much X likes Y.

I might be a bit of a sucker for that whole "language only they understand" deal. Is that a trope? I feel like it should be a trope.

A quick moment between two REALLY minor characters from the Princess Princess anime in episode six. Sakamoto's parents when they're standing in the bedroom doorway, the father complements the mother then kisses her on the cheek, causing her to blush. I just always thought that was so sweet.

When one character has a FAVORITE THING that they rarely get and so do not share. But then they go and share it with the other person.

Reading poetry to one another in bed.

In Primeval: When Becker bought Jess chocolate. And when Jess brought Becker Chinese when he was on his stakeout. When Jenny temporarily dies from the cold, and Danny is there holding her hand and calling her 'Jen' (because I'm pretty sure he was the only one who ever called her that).

Most of my ship have been USTy or otherwise unfulfilled, so there aren't a lot of romantic gestures...I guess gestures of friendship can be the same, just changed the context.

Actually, I always got a thrill because of the nature of my ships when one character called the other by their first name. There are a lot of professionals in the shows I watch, so when they would switch from, for example, "Doctor" to "Beverly" or "Carter" to "Sam"...gets me every time.

My favourite romantic thing of all time will always be Cyrano's monologue under Roxanne's balcony. Especially in the Brian Hooker translation. I about know that whole passage off by heart, ugh... "Your name is like a golden bell hung in my heart, and when I see you--I tremble, and the bell swings and rings, 'Roxanne'...along my veins, 'Roxanne, Roxanne'..."

In Stranger Than Fiction, when Will Ferrell's character brings Maggie Gyllenhaal's character a bunch of little bags of different types of flour. I just found the play on flower/flour since she was a baker stupidly adorable.

There's a letter I just found in Dishonored from some guy to his Overseer boyfriend, basically saying that he understands the threats and slurs and doesn't take them personally (since the religion the Overseers are part of is homophobic) and can't wait to see him again. And it's really sweet and it immediately made me feel bad about killing some of the Overseers.

People resting together. Especially when it's well-earned.

I guess this is technically friendship but whatever.

Abed was disappointed that they couldn't do Die Hard in a restaurant for Christmas so for compensation Troy surprised him with a tailor-made John McClane singed tank as a present and then Abed wore it the whole episode and it was really cute.

When one makes significant callbacks to something the other said earlier--especially if the original conversation was private between the two of them and the second isn't. The character is saying something that means something more to the other, as well as proving that they listened and remembered their words.

...I don't really have many canon ships, so. Best I got.
