All you people who are answering yes to this, you actually think beating up an adult, maybe giving some bruises, is worse than torturing a small animal, who is basically defenseless like a baby?

If so, you're a dumbass and one of the reasons why I prefer animals in the first place over people like you.

"beating up" implies more than just bruises. Also you have no idea if the people he beat up were capable of defending themselves or not.

No shit, I work for a worker's comp insurance agency and I can tell you right now that fist fights can kill or maim/disfigure a person for life. I've seen some really horrible injuries resulting from someone getting "beat up"

I mean, it really depends on the context of the person getting beaten up. I would agree with you if you're talking like, a run-of-the-mill fist fight between two adults, but what about things like child abuse or neglect? The fact that people in this country apparently care more about abused animals than starving or abused children pisses me right the fuck off.

I'm of the belief that if animals could speak, things might be different.
