Eh, I didn't start sinfest because it was funny, I actually started because someone told me about the heartwarming (glasses-kid and the demon girl, the cat and the dog, etc.), and it's not even that anymore.

That was a good story line. Except the last time we saw them, they were in the "Friend Zone" (a literal signed zone made by the trikers).

They may have shown up in the background since, but we haven't seen any progression of their story. And that makes for a somewhat disappointing implication
