No, it means OP and this other person are fandom friends. Not, in itself, a problem, although it might seem that way if OP thinks they're just "friends."

Besides that: OP also says that it kills them that their friend only talks about fandom. I'm pretty sure they're exaggerating.

You're guessing that they're fandom friends. I did not interpret it that way.

da. I'd agree that complaining about a fandom buddy only talking about fandom would be silly; but the tone of the secret makes it sound like they're actual RL friends. When you're friends with somebody it's generally considered bad form to spend all the time you're hanging out together talking about things they have no/limited interest in: be it fandom, golf, horse racing, cars, fashion, politics, skydiving, stamp collecting or your cat's funny habits.

Definitely was reading it as a RL friend/someone who isn't interested in the fandom in general. In which case, like was stated above me, definitely bad form to continue talking about something even after someone has said they're really not interested and would like to talk about something else.

Even if they WERE fandom friends, when someone says "I'm not interested, could we talk about something else" you should definitely try to talk about something else.

If OP is a random RL friend who isn't in fandom, how the hell did they find their way to FandomSecrets?

That's what I wanted to know. And also why are they *posting* here?

I'm assuming said friend either knows obsessed friend is super into fandom secrets or met said friend through fandom, became IRL friends, and now obsessed friend is in a completely different fandom.

i was also wondering this.
