So, Orihime almost kissing Ichigo is just as bad as if she would had actually gone through it?

Yeah, I don't think so.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-20 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly. What part of almost don't you understand?

(Anonymous) 2013-04-20 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Coming into an injured, unconscious person's room by itself is bad enough I think. But going there specifically with the intent to take something so personal from him without his consent is also very skeevy.

Not as bad as if she'd actually done it, no, but I think if Ichigo ever knew about what actually happened at that time he'd be very uncomfortable - and that's what really makes it wrong. As far as he knows, she only healed him and left.

Except that Orihime is Ichigo's friend, so I (personally) don't think that he'd be all too upset at her for entering his room without his consent.

Also, Orihime's intent was to say good-bye to him. She didn't go into his room for the sole purpose of kissing him.

So, yeah. Orihime almost kissing Ichigo =/= Orihime kissing Ichigo.

They only recently became friends, and they aren't even that close. She was just a girl from school. When someone like that tries to force some romantic burden on you, it's not ok.

At the beginning of the manga, yes. But as the story progressed, the bond between the two changed from "friend of a friend" to "nakama". For fuck's sake, this is the same dude who went to Hueco Mundo, a place filled with overpowered enemies he had almost no chance of defeating, just to rescue her!

Just because Ichigo doesn't reciprocate Orihime's feelings (and that's only because he has no knowledge of Orihime holding said feelings for him) doesn't mean that he doesn't value Orihime as a nakama. He cares for Orihime just as much as he does for his other nakama.

And lastly, Orihime doesn't force her feelings unto Ichigo. In fact, she keeps her feelings for him to herself.

Now I don't know about you, but I'm about DONE with this conversation. I don't even ship IchiHime, and I find this to be pretty fucking ridiculous.

+1

Ichigo was also one of the few that kept telling everyone else who thought "Orihime intentionally betrayed everyone and went off to Hueco Mundo" that they were full of shit. He never doubted Orihime for a second. All he wanted to do was make sure she was safe.

Does he romantically love her? Who knows. But he is certainly close with her and views her as a valuable friend.

He isn't close with her at all, even if he values her. You have no idea what you're saying.

Ichigo doesn't even call her by her first name, yet all his other friends he does.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-21 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
look, this is so weaksauce
stick w/ the whole 'disgusting' angle, you could get some mileage out of that

No, I think you have no idea what you're saying.

Looks like you have no clue how the Japanese language works, do you?

Only after she was kidnapped did we see that Ichigo cared enough about her to rescue her. Beforehand their relationship was a mystery. Like I said, Orihime was simply a girl from school who he was barely friends with.

He cares for Orihime just as much as he does for his other nakama.
She may be in a nakama, but that doesn't make them close. Chad is Ichigo's nakama and unlike Orihime Chad is his best friend. Nakama is just a group.

And lastly, Orihime doesn't force her feelings unto Ichigo. In fact, she keeps her feelings for him to herself.
Trying to kiss him while he was asleep IS forcing her feelings on him.

JFC, really?

Only after she was kidnapped did we see that Ichigo cared enough about her to rescue her. Beforehand their relationship was a mystery. Like I said, Orihime was simply a girl from school who he was barely friends with.
Except that by now in the current manga timeline, Orihime is pretty much an important friend and comrade to Ichigo. Just because they weren't close friends at the early part of the manga doesn't mean that they aren't close friends now.

She may be in a nakama, but that doesn't make them close. Chad is Ichigo's nakama and unlike Orihime Chad is his best friend. Nakama is just a group.
...really? Really?

Ichigo's bonds with both Chad and Orihime are invaluable to him. Him having different relationships with the two doesn't make them any less important to him.

Also, I suggest that you actually look up the definition of the word "nakama". Here, I'll do it for you:

Nakama:
In Japanese, nakama (ไปฒ้–“) means colleague, compatriot, friend or comrade.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nakama

Trying to kiss him while he was asleep IS forcing her feelings on him.
Except that SHE DIDN'T GO THROUGH WITH THE KISS. She held herself back because she thought that it would be wrong to steal a kiss from him.

Look, I think we pretty much gonna have to agree to disagree. I have better shit to do like working on my Isshin/Ryuuken fanfic than getting into an argument.

Good night.

Let me bake you cookies because spirits, gods and elements almighty. May an eternity's luck go with you along with my thanks.

Except that by now in the current manga timeline, Orihime is pretty much an important friend and comrade to Ichigo.
But we're not talking about what their relationship is by now are we? We're talking about their relationship post-SS before the HM arc, when she tried to kiss him. And their relationship was very underdeveloped.

You aren't winning this argument.

Ichigo's bonds with both Chad and Orihime are invaluable to him. Him having different relationships with the two doesn't make them any less important to him.
You still aren't getting my point.
Ichigo's relationship with Chad isn't the same as with Orihime, so stop pretending like it is. To have someone like Orihime sneak in his room like that is not cool. If it were Chad, someone he knows very well, it would be a lot different.

Except that SHE DIDN'T GO THROUGH WITH THE KISS. She held herself back because she thought that it would be wrong to steal a kiss from him.
Why are you even splitting hairs? Her intent was to kiss him, which is bad enough.

She held herself back because she didn't have the never to go through with it, which is even worse.

Hey, if you want to continue thinking that Orihime is a shallow friend and a horrible person for almost kissing Ichigo, than go ahead and be my guest.

But I am done. Finished. No more fucks given.
