Y'know, this seems to be the most sensible comment.

I think nerdy friends are expected to put up with a bit of "this is all I can think about right now" from time to time (Lord knows my friends had to deal with me the whole month or so after Avengers came out). Whether or not it's actually a problem for her or actually as unhealthy as you seem to feel it is isn't something that any of us can possibly know, and I think a lot of the defensive responses come from a place of having been put down by more normal friends for having an obsession that's more easily accepted by other nerdfriends.

But it really isn't your problem to deal with. If your friend isn't fun to hang out with and repeatedly ignores requests you've made of her--don't hang out with her. Or hang out with her less.

If it gets to the point that she's heavily in debt or misses key life events because of fandom, I dunno, maybe stage an intervention. Otherwise...eh.
