idgi why would anyone be surprised that most of it is BL shipping? I mean 98% of the characters are dudes.

Perhaps they want no shipping at all? Like people who Watch It For The X (where X = what the show is allegedly about, in many cases superkids playing sports, which is pretty hilarious. It's great gag stuff though.)

I won't deny that some scenes and characters were made with the female audience in mind, but I really don't think it had the same approach as K or Kuroko.

Yeah, pretty sure most of the creators know at this point that adding in some slash bait will get them a bigger audience - and as long as it's only ever subtext, they're not likely lose the part of the audience that doesn't want to see it.

This is why I avoid anime and manga forums anymore. Obnoxious fans are one thing, but it's amazing how utterly nasty a lot of people will get and how far they will reach to try and deny that there's any hints of gayness between the characters.

It's like that's the worst possible thing certain types of fans could imagine: male characters actually being queer, or having feelings for each other, oh no! This wasn't a shoune-ai, goddamnit, it's shounen, where's their girl/girl fanservice?!

i honestly don't get why it's such a huge fucking deal. shipping is harmless, BL or otherwise. more often than not, all the complaining about BL/slash is just poorly concealed homophobia. even the whole "fujoshi pandering" terminology bothers me because i'm pretty damn sure that if it was two chicks explicitly getting it on or a het relationship demonstrated, it wouldn't have so many stupid fanboys up in arms.

But modern shounen is pretty obvious about BL baitingm lol. And Kuroko no Basuke is one of the worst perpetrators. I find the deniers just as hilarious as those that insist it will be canon someday.

I think it's extra hilarious considering the massive overlap between the Tenipuri, toku and BL actors. That makes people angry too, ime. Actors aren't their characters, so whatever other roles they take doesn't taint your precious dudes anyway, yeesh.

Although W is one example where even the staunchest of fanboys in denial are like "yeah, that's pretty gay."
