It just amused me so much that when I was watching it with my friend we had to pause the episode, rag on it, and then create a headcanon that Beacon Hills exists in some sort of Twilight Zone and no one inside notices the time problems unless they "Awaken" at some point. Even if they do realize what's happening most stay quiet about it because the rest of the residents will think they're crazy if they say anything.

Um, I don't even know what Hemlock Grove is. So probably not. If she knows what it is she could possibly persuade me. Before we do that though, she was hoping to get me to watch Vampire Diaries with her. I don't know if I want to know how much pain I'm going to be in watching that.

(Sadly I have no Netflix otherwise I would already be watching this amazing sounding production.)

(Anonymous) 2013-04-22 01:48 am (UTC)(link)Then that is where is start deviating in really really horrible ways, the other lead male is some... werewolf but not? IDFK, he likes liking blood while having sex. The not-werewolf has a mutant giant for a sister, his father shot himself in the living room and his mother has a weird incestuous relationship? Also he is the town man whore. I get a definite Jackson feel from him though I couldn't bear more than just the one episode.
Oh and this show has less minorities than TW by a long shot, but the doctor they bring the photos of the dead girl to get checked just happens to be the lone minority. Like Deaton?
This show is apparently based off of a book, but the book was written in 2012.

Edit:
Ick ick ick I take it back I must not watch this! I just watched the 'Transformation' clip they have on IMDB. That was really gross even with the awful special effects. Eyeballs popping out and wolf face birthing through the human face was not something I needed to see.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-22 02:01 am (UTC)(link)Yeah I didn't get that far. The fake intestines on the dead girl in ep1 were REALLY bad, and it was oddly the only part of her that was injured, even though she'd been mauled by an apparent werewolf.
OH and I forgot to mention, I didn't count but I can get they used "gypsy" as an insult at least 20 times in that one episode.
