Might have something to do with Kuroko's utter lack of visible emotion? Like, I'd find anything weird where he was actually treating his love interest differently, because he doesn't seem to bother having different "modes" for different people. Anything involving him being an active participant in the relationship would just feel really OOC and...not Kuroko.

I don't really know, OP. I don't blame you, though. Sometimes our brains are just weird :P
