But now that I think of it, I seem to recall that there were some people on the planet who sincerely believed the Doctor was going to actually die in season 6. ;)

Yep, I have to agree here.

Somewhat OT, but I often imagine popular shows having awful, weird and completely random endings. Say, in Sherlock Sherlock returns by falling from the roof of St Barts again and accidentally killing John, Molly turns out to be Moriarty and Moriarty turns out to be Irene Adler and at the same time John's grandmother. And it is revealed that he slept with John all the time.

IIRC Nu!Who fanon gave Ten a name. Nu!Who fandom will probably explode if Moffat uses that name, or they will explode if he doesn't. Really, he's doomed either way....

Er...I'm pretty sure they didn't. Unless you're thinking of how Doctor/Master slash often uses the name "Theta"? That's different -- it's short for Theta Sigma, the Doctor's canon nickname from university that has no connection, as far as anyone knows, to his actual name (Seven definitely mentions it onscreen in The Happiness Patrol, but I can't remember what the first time it was used was).

Personally I always thought that particular fan usage of it was kind of dumb, because seriously, university nickname. It's was probably the Gallifreyan equivalent of "Beercules" or something.

Theta Sigma was mentioned in "The Armageddon Factor", when the Doctor meets an old friend from Gallifrey.

Look on the one hand I don't care if we learn the Doctor's name or not, people are definitely overreacting, etc, etc.

On the other hand who the fuck knows with Moffat?
